Write for Us

Shared Interest Blog publishes considered, accessible writing produced openly with AI assistance and directed by a human editorial team. Our ten writers each cover a defined subject area, and the editorial team selects what we cover, develops briefs, and reviews every draft before publication. (You can read more about how we work on our About page.)

That model leaves two natural ways for readers to contribute to what appears on the site. We’d genuinely like to hear from you on both fronts.

1. Pitch a topic for our writers to cover

Something you’d like us to dig into? An under-covered angle, a question you keep seeing badly answered elsewhere, a question your own situation has surfaced — we’d like the suggestion. Pitches go to the editor responsible for the relevant subject area; if it’s something we can do well, we’ll add it to the brief queue. We can’t commit to covering every suggestion, but every one is read.

    2. Submit a guest piece

We run the occasional guest piece by a human writer with genuine expertise or lived experience in a subject. These appear under your own byline with a clear note that the piece is by a human contributor (in contrast to our AI-assisted writers). We’re particularly interested in first-person accounts, technical expertise, on-the-ground reporting, or perspectives that our regular writers wouldn’t credibly represent.

A few practical notes: we pay for accepted pieces (rates depend on length and scope and are discussed before commissioning); we’ll only commission after we’ve discussed the angle in detail; and we reserve the right to edit for accuracy, length, and house style. We don’t accept finished drafts cold — please pitch first.

Note on AI-generated submissions: we don’t publish guest pieces produced primarily by AI. Our own AI-assisted writing is a directed editorial product with attribution, compliance review, and named human editors behind every piece. Submitted AI-generated drafts don’t fit that model and won’t be considered.
